Brownie Bites Recipe for Toddlers
Here is the latest in my Toddler Visual Recipe Series. I love these brownie bites for their decadence.
The secret (or not so secret) is to add about 2 Tbsp of coffee. I use store bought iced coffee, as a warm coffee tends to liquefy my recipe too much.
It is no secret if you’ve read much of my blog, that I am an avid coffee drinker. I saw a note on a blog once where the mom said she gets through parenting with coffee and snuggles.
Yep, that about sums it all up.
I recently discovered that Starbucks has a Blonde Iced Coffee for sale at the grocery store. This is perfect for cooking with as it adds just enough depth without taking over the recipe with strong coffee flavor.
Added bonus, sitting outside on a warm afternoon drinking some iced coffee. For about the price of 1 Venti Iced Coffee at Starbucks, I have an entire jug…and I can stay in my crazy around the house clothes to drink it. Win!
Also, I really fell in love with the new Starbucks Cold Brew protein smoothies, but for $6.00 a pop I needed a budget friendly alternative. I haven’t mastered them yet, but I’m determined.
Alas, I digress…see coffee does that to me.
About the brownies –
You can also make these from a mix if you would like, by omitting the first 3 ingredients. I’ve used the ghiradelli’s mix before and the added bonus of the chocolate sauce in the mix just adds more yumm!
When you are baking these, if you don’t have a mini muffin pan, you can make them in a traditional square pan. Simply double the cooking time and don’t forget to grease any pan that you use.
Let me know how they turn out.
